Bridgerton Season 4 Gets an Official Release Date

Bridgerton Season 4 official poster featuring Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson as Sophie Baek and Benedict Bridgerton.

Dearest gentle readers, mark your calendars! Netflix has officially announced the release date for Bridgerton Season 4. In a newly released promo clip, the Regency era series is set to make its return in two parts: the first four episodes of Part 1 will release on January 29, 2026, and Part 2 will release on February 26, 2026. The news comes with the official poster and new images featuring the season’s leads – Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).

Bridgerton Season 4 will see Benedict, the second-oldest son, reluctantly attend his mother’s famed masquerade ball. However, while he’s there, he meets the mysterious Lady in Silver, and his world is never the same. The Lady in Silver is really Sophie Baek, a maid to Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung). Their story will be one exploring the class divisions of the period that threaten to keep them apart.

If you’ve read anything from this particular author, then you know how exciting this news is. Between People We Meet on Vacation and Bridgerton, the beginning of 2026 belongs to romance fans. I have been in love with Julia Quinn’s twist on Cinderella since I read An Offer From a Gentleman in 2021. I’ve waited years for Benedict to take center stage, but even more so, I’ve waited for the world to meet the woman who brings back the color to his life: Sophie.

Based on the information we’ve received so far, this season of Bridgerton is shaping up to be something special and entirely its own. For one, Season 4 will take place during the fall, instead of spring like previous seasons. The color scheme for the poster is one of soft pastels of pinks, purples, and blues. There is a fairytale-like wonder to every image of Yerin Ha as Sophie in her masquerade attire. It conveys something precious and delicate; one little disruption could burst the fantasy (which is exactly what happens when the clock strikes midnight).

Of the images and footage we received from this announcement, my speculating brain can’t stop staring at the new image of Benedict and Sophie in the gazebo together, looking out at something. Perhaps it is the moment when it’s midnight and it’s time for the masks to come off. It’s interesting to note that one of Sophie’s arms is gloveless. In An Offer From a Gentleman, Benedict takes off her glove and kisses her arm while they’re alone together at the masquerade ball. When Sophie flees, all she leaves behind is her glove (sorry, no glass slippers!) In the date announcement promo, there is a shot of Sophie’s glove falling on the staircase, which suggests Sophie’s glove will also play a pivotal role in the adaptation.

Everything about Benedict and Sophie’s story has involved waiting. We’ve waited years for Benedict Bridgerton to become the season lead. We’ve waited years for confirmation of Sophie’s existence in the Netflix adaptation. We’ve waited for Season 4 to start filming. We’ve waited for filming to wrap up. And now, the waiting is almost over. We’re within 100 days of the world of Season 4. Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, your time is almost here. This author will be counting down the days because they are worth waiting for.
