As an entertainment journalist by day and romance author by night, I’ll never say no to another adaptation. The answer is always: more, please. There could never be enough. And since hockey is currently having its moment, Hannah Grace‘s bestselling Icebreaker adaptation is coming at the perfect time.
Netflix officially greenlit the show earlier this spring, and now, things are becoming more real as production begins and casting announcements start rolling out. Icebreaker is adapted by Jade Bartlett (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Miller’s Girl), and given how adaptations have been in the last few years, I, for one, cannot wait. The series is also executive produced by Unwell Productions, by Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan, and Mina Lefevre.

What Is Icebreaker About?
Grace’s Icebreaker is a sizzling and gorgeous romance that follows a competitive figure skater, Anastasia “Stassie” Allen, and hockey captain Nate Hawkins as they’re forced to share a rink, and well, you can imagine all the glorious places we go. There are three books in the Maple Hills series, and imaginably, the series will follow the same pattern as most romance adaptations, with one season taking on its respective book. Icebreaker is the first in the series and the perfect place to start.
Who’s In the Icebreaker Cast?
As of right now, the only two cast members we know of are our two main leads, Daisy Jelley as Stassie and Connor Simos as Nate. The announcement came through an adorable video released on September 28 by Grace, and right off the bat, we’re seated and ready to go.
