Talk about a trailer. The Percy Jackson Season 3 trailer is here, and my God, it’s a stunner. The teaser we got earlier this year at SDCC was heart-pounding, but now the full thing is unreal. Can someone put it in theaters so I can see it on the biggest screen possible? The season is confirmed to follow the events of The Titan’s Curse, and considering the emotional heart of that book focuses on Percy and Annabeth, none of us are remotely prepared for the journey it’s going to take us on.
Even the single shot of Grover in tears has me in tears. So much of this story is a test of endurance and loyalty. It’s a reminder of the people in your corner who’ll do everything they can to show up for you, and the Percy Jackson Season 3 trailer brings these emotions to life masterfully in all the right scenes, cut to keep us hyped.
As with all book-to-screen adaptations, plus everything we’ve seen in the past two seasons, there will be changes to the text, but because of how well they’ve been done before, I have no doubt in my mind that this season will adapt The Titan’s Curse closely. If the emotions are this profound in the trailer, then surely the entire season is bigger than what any of us can imagine. I said it when the teaser was first released, but “The team is well aware of how important Percy’s love for Annabeth is, and they aren’t making it a secret. I’m still thinking about Percy telling Annabeth he knew how special she was after two days in Season 2, and this teaser proves how monumental that confession really was. When Percy Jackson sets his mind to something, he’s going to achieve it. And it’s never been more obvious that no one in this world is more precious to him than Annabeth Chase, even if he doesn’t exactly realize it’s love he’s feeling.”
