High Potential Officially Sets Its Season 3 Return Date

Kaitlin Olson in High Potential Season 2

Earlier this year, networks like ABC, CBS, and more opted out of bringing back their normal fall lineup for a January winter release instead. Some of our personal favorite shows like High Potential and Ghosts were among the series we’re currently desperately missing, and it’s still hard to imagine why this decision was made when it feels like TV is strangely quieter right now, and we’re constantly scouring for content to cover. But at least we now have an official release date for High Potential Season 3, and the countdown can begin.

In a perfectly appropriate Morgan Gillory-esque video shared by the official accounts, our queen Kaitlin Olson dropped the news that High Potential will officially be returning on January 5, 2027.

When we last saw our favorite characters in the Season 2 finale, “Family Tree,” we left every single one of them in an awful position and with the kind of cliffhanger I’m still thinking about. It’ll be interesting to see if the show resumes right where we left off or if it’ll tackle a time jump, as other shows like it have done in the past. Regardless, having our grumpy and sunshine pairing back in Morgan and Daniel Sunjata’s Adam Karadec already has me in shambles, because I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Their slow burn not only continues to be one of the most delicious showcases of the trope on TV right now, but the entire series’ found family is among some of the best we’ve ever had. There’s a reason its ratings have skyrocketed from day one, and it’s entirely because of the characters and their dynamics.

High Potential Season 3 will continue to air at 10 p.m., which is great considering its darker themes are more of a welcome in a later time slot.
