Yes, a Lucy Hale and Ian Harding Rom-Com Is Happening

Lucy Hale and Ian Harding in Pretty Little Liars

This past weekend, Pretty Little Liars stars Lucy Hale and Ian Harding, among others, reunited at Comic Con Midlands, prompting fans to take to social media about how they want to see the two of them reunite in another property together. Well, you don’t have to wait too long because late last year, Deadline announced that it’s officially in the works.

They’ll be in a film titled The Twelve Dates of Christmas, from Latigo Films, Applewood Studios, CaliWood Pictures, Fortitude International and BuzzFeed Studios, but not to be confused with the limited series that aired on Hallmark last year.

As someone who appreciates both actors off-screen and couldn’t finish Pretty Little Liars all the way through, this news is especially perfect for me. With films like Ghosts of Christmas Always and series like Holidazed, Harding proves that the world of Christmas is excellent for an actor as charming as he is. And Hale continuously delivers nuances with every rom-com heroine she embodies, so The Twelve Dates of Christmas is bound to be excellent.

There’s very little we know about the movie at the moment, including when it’ll officially premiere, but the premise reads: “The Twelve Dates of Christmas follows Christina Walker (Hale), a successful shop owner who has devoted her energy to her career at the expense of her dating life. As she finds herself single while watching her younger siblings marry ahead of her, Christina makes a promise to herself: to go on 12 dates in the 12 weeks leading up to Christmas in hopes of finding “Mr. Right.” Along the way, she navigates the often complicated and unpredictable world of online dating, discovering unexpected connections, personal growth, and the true meaning of the season.”

Ultimately, no matter what we get, it’ll be an absolute blast to see Ian Harding and Lucy Hale reunite on-screen again. And listen, really, we’ll take more rom-coms like this from the duo, too, if there are any more announcements incoming.
